Managing Director, Synovate, Spain ‘Created a truly global quality standard for the market research industry’ |
Over the past eight years, Enrique Domingo has been greatly involved in the development and implementation of global quality standards. Under his leadership, the current ISO 20252 has become a global beacon. Mature markets brought their existing quality standards (for instance the UK, Netherlands, France) in line with this new ISO standard, with the standard becoming a long-term quality objective for emerging markets.
After more than two and a half years of constructive discussion and cooperation within the ISO’s technical committee TC-225 that included 22 participating countries and 10 observer countries in addition to ESOMAR, WAPOR, and initiator EFAMRO, a global consensus was reached and a new sectorial standard for worldwide quality assurance and assessment was established. The participating members accounted for more than 80% of total expenditure in the sector.
“Everybody agrees that without Enrique’s excellent diplomatic and negotiating skills, it would never have been possible to create a truly global standard that was both acceptable to the highly developed markets (UK, France, Germany), and the emerging market research markets.”
“Thanks to Enrique Domingo’s efforts, the current ISO 20252 is not based on the lowest level of quality that was deemed acceptable for all parties, but something that represents an optimum quality level.”
“The introduction of ISO 20252 is an outstanding achievement for the market research industry. It only became a reality because one person, Enrique Domingo, had a clear vision, took the initiative, and had the "soft skills" to make it happen, not for his own ego, but for the betterment of the industry.”
