THE ESOMAR EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE IN MARKET RESEARCH |
Director, van Hamersveld MC, Netherlands
‘Overall contribution to house of quality by enthusiastic and consistent fostering and guidance to standards promotion'
Mario van Hamersveld has made the most important contribution to the international development of standards in market research in the last five years. He has establishing a clear and simple structure for thinking about the way market research performance standards can be organised – the House of Quality. He has also encouraged leaders of companies and associations to get involved in advancing and aligning standards, initially through RELEAS and then WIN. He has also established the Alliance for Research as a public action group for the Market Research industry. Many people have been involved in these initiatives, but the essential role that Mario has played is one of leadership; cajoling, encouraging and reassuring all the individuals involved to put in the time, make the effort and give of their best. Without him the initiatives above would have happened more slowly, if they happened at all and certainly they would not have made the global impact which they have.
“The contribution of Mario is worldwide, affects many important aspects of our industry and created long-term initiatives. His level of commitment has influenced many other developments”
“Mario has done a remarkable worldwide job: Successful outputs and a positive impact for the profession”
“Mario is just the guy who ties it all together and who tries to build MR as a holistic function”
“WIN and Release have managed to unite Associations, Suppliers and Buyers – focusing on MR global issues. This required vision as well as leadership, both of which Mario has demonstrated.”
