ESOMAR Best of - India 2013 will be held in Bengaluru – India’s hub for the information technology sector and one of the top entrepreneurial locations in the world. Opportunities for the market research industry are abound both from the technological and entrepreneurial point of view and India – as one of the major markets in the BRIC area - is well positioned to play a leadership role in both these areas.

In line with global trends, we are seeing a metamorphosis of the MR industry in India. However, while the industry is indeed moving forward, we want to ensure we keep sharp focus so that our foundations remain strong…. enabling us to grow from strength to strength.

  Rama Bijapurkar, one of India’s leading management consultants, specialising in business-market strategy and author of “We are like that only: Understanding the Logic of Consumer India” will focus on how the role of market research is changing, and how as market researchers, we not only have to adopt the new horizons and technology, but also ensure that the core of market research, which is good-quality data, is given the highest attention.

Advisors

Jayant Jain

Jayant Jain is Vice President, Head - Consumer Insights & Market Research at Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. As a member of the Corporate leadership team he is responsible for providing consumer insight-based strategic inputs to the entire gamut of business decisions for the KK Modi Group.

For over two decades, Jayant has acquired wide ranging expertise of understanding markets, consumer behavior, branding and advertising. He has worked at senior positions with market research, consulting and KPO companies services based in India, Middle East, East Europe and USA where he was responsible for starting, setting up, managing and leading these organisations. 

Jayant has served as visiting faculty and has taught Market Research, International Marketing and Consumer Behaviour at many prestigious Business Management Schools. He is an active Member of the Managing Committee of Market Research Society of India (MRSI) and is currently serving as its Vice President.

Partha Rakshit

Partha Rakshit is a Consultant with Partha Rakshit Associates and has over 30 years experience in market research, having worked with both the client side (Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble) as well as the research supplier side (IMRB, MRAS, Nielsen). He was the ESOMAR Representative for India from1992-1996 and was President of the Market Research Society of India from 1993-96. Partha retired from Nielsen as Managing Director of South Asia in January 2010, and now has his own consultancy company.

Pravin Shekar

Pravin Shekar has been in the research domain for the past 15 years and continues to contribute to market research in various avatars: entrepreneur, technologist, research-evangelist and speaker.

He heads two entities: 'krea', an India-centric panel research firm and 'The Social Catalyst', a non-profit trust aimed at professionalising the work of NGOs.

Pravin has been selected as an “Emerging Global leader in marketing research”, by the American Marketing Association (4 under 40 Award).

In regular demand as a speaker, Pravin has presented papers and chaired discussions at several conferences. As an ESOMAR Council member, he has been working towards spreading the use of technology in research, increasing engagement levels amongst practitioners and spearheading the movement for making market research a career of choice for students.

Sandeep Arora

Sandeep Arora is Senior Vice President and Global Head-Research and Analytics Solutions at Datamatics Global Services Ltd. He is responsible for driving business growth in the research and analytics space using technology-enabled solutions. He has spent over 16 years in the market research industry and brings with him a comprehensive perspective from different pockets of the industry. He strongly believes that technology will turn out to be one of the key enablers in taking the market research industry to its next level - a level that is going to be quite different from how we understand the industry today.

While at TNS, he won the top regional Darrah Estrada Award “Overcoming the Impossible” for introducing Consumer Confidence Index in India and has been decorated with “Outstanding Leadership Award” for two consecutive years” in Datamatics.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend, a substitute may attend in your place. Please note, however, that the status of the replacement delegate (member/non-member) may affect the original fee charged. Cancellations must be received by ESOMAR in writing or you will be considered a No Show (no refund given). All refund claims must be received within 5 working days after the event has been held. The cancellation charges will apply irrespective of whether the registration fees have been paid or not.
