Workshop overview
An understanding of advanced quantitative techniques will lead to better application of these new and exciting measures. If researchers know what they are, when they should be used, what data needs to be available, which outputs can be produced, and when not to use them, then they will be in a better position to commission research, organise sub-contractors or specialists, or to engage in further exploration of the techniques. In this one day session you can expect to:
- Gain an understanding of which types of techniques are applicable to which types of problems
- Review the different types of data required for the different techniques and the different types of outputs
- Look at what is happening in the world of leading edge quantitative research for example Structural Equation Modelling and Latent Class Analysis
- Review new methodologies including MaxDiff Scaling and Best/Worse Conjoint, Choice modelling (including Discrete Choice and Conjoint Analysis), and Hierarchical Bayes
Level
AdvancedYou should have a good working knowledge of conventional quantitative research and be comfortable with traditional concepts such as factor analysis and cluster analysis.
