His professional career in marketing research started in 1980 at INTAGE Inc., the largest and most comprehensive marketing research company in Japan. Since then, Mr. Ota (or Ota-san) has led a great deal of marketing research projects in both syndicated panel research and custom research fields for the wide variety of industries in Japan and abroad.

His primary roles at the INTAGE Group have been enhancing its competitiveness in global markets through driving international strategic alliances as well as identifying business opportunities outside Japan. Based on his professional experiences and academic background about global business strategies, Ota-san is now also in charge of promotion of international PR activities of Japan Marketing Research Association (JMRA) as a chairperson of JMRA International PR Committee, and making efforts to foster regional networks throughout research associations in the Asia-Pacific region.
