David Penn

David Penn is co- founder and  MD of Conquest Research Ltd, one of the UK's largest independent companies and experts in brand and communications research.
His career has spanned both client and agency, starting   with Unilever before moving on to senior research roles in BP and United Biscuits. He then crossed the divide and joined Taylor Nelson as a director, before co-founding Conquest Research in the early 90s.

He has published and presented widely on the impact of brain science on marketing research, including papers at the UK MRS Conferences of 2005 and 2007. He is a frequent speaker at WARC Conferences on advertising research and his paper Beyond Neuroscience: Engagement and Metaphor is to be presented at the 2007 ESOMAR Congress in Berlin.

David uses the new thinking to help frame Conquest's methodologies and analysis tools. Conquests’s Brand Health Monitor uses metaphoric scales to measure emotional brand engagement.
David is a graduate of the LSE and lists history, philosophy and travel amongst his interests.
