Determining the market for a new vaccine
Henry GazayCorinne Hardy
Abstract
The use of "last patient analysis"- Last Patient Analysis (LPA) is a patient diary review technique that provides a picture of actual patient profiles and referral (a patient path), the underlying reasons and attitudes for disease treatment and prescription usage, and the intent to prescribe a new treatment to each patient.
- LPA is a statistically robust research product as typically each physician is easily able to describe up to 6 patient cases, which means that 100 interviews generate 600 cases. Medimix International and Sanofi-Pasteur are detailing 1,740 quantitative interviews from the US, France, Germany and Italy with oncologists and dermatologists on the subject of a new Melanoma vaccine.
- There is a continuous evolution of immune cancer response understanding as newer antigen targets are being studied which may improve the effectiveness of anti-tumor vaccines. The development and effective marketing of a melanoma vaccine would be a revolution in the efficient treatment of melanoma.
- Medimix will present the diary review technique explaining how one can analyze in-depth patient path, treatment algorithm and patient needs.
