Abstract

As a senior executive at Philips, Geert is in a unique position to explain the profound changes that have been and are being undertaken by this global giant.  He will describe how going from a Research and Development culture to a customer centric culture has fundamentally changed the outlook, evaluation principles and strategy within the company.  Philips has chosen to push the boundaries and create new areas within their business requiring a new understanding of the outside world.  Geert asks the question, how does market research fit into this new world and how can it contribute?

Geert van Kuyck

Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Management, Philips

Geert van Kuyck joined Philips as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Management in Fall 2005. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Marketing for EMEA at Starbucks Coffee Company, where he helped to build the Starbucks retail business across Europe and the Middle East and was responsible for product category performance  as well as marketing, communications and sustainability.

Before Starbucks, Geert spent almost 14 years with Procter & Gamble, holding various positions in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the USA, with a combination of local, European and global responsibilities across a diverse range of businesses.

He is a Belgian national, graduated from the University of Leuven, Belgium and is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands with his wife, son and daughter.
