Hot Topics - Developments in Pricing within Asia Pacific
Travyn Rhall of Millward Brown and Midori Matsuoka of Nielsen examined some of the recent developments in pricing for Asia Pacific in the last ESOMAR Global Prices Study.
Some of their findings included:
- Technology is playing an increasing role in helping reduce costs, due to online data capture and greater efficiency in processing results.
- Outsourcing of some elements of the research process is also helping to lower some costs.
- Lack of available talent is increasing many companies’ operating costs.
- Australia is expected to overtake Japan as the most expensive country for conducting Face-to-Face research projects.
- There has been marked growth in multi-country studies, with clients preferring to develop regional marketing structures.
- The prices for online in Asia are, in many cases, similar to offline.
- With the increasing popularity of online research, carrying out surveys has become more casual.
