Global Prices Study 2010

Overview

ESOMAR is pleased to announce the start of data collection for the Global Prices Study 2010 as of the 19th January 2010.

The Prices Study enables research providers and buyers throughout the world to benchmark the cost of market research projects by indicating the relative pricing of different types of projects by country and region. The 2010 Study will be one of the most important industry studies, offering an opportunity to explore the impact that current unprecedented market conditions are having on global pricing.

Quotes are requested on seven ad-hoc surveys and, where applicable quotes are requested for a variety of data collection methods. We will also seek data about commercial tariffs.

Consumer quantitative

  • A usage and attitude survey
  • A tracking study
  • An advertising pre-test

Consumer qualitative (including one international)

  • Four group discussions
  • An international study with group discussions
  • An ethnographic study

Business-to-business

  • A quantitative business to business survey

Commercial tariffs

  • Junior Researcher
  • Senior Researcher
  • Face-to-Face presentation

The international project team has worked with a number of leading organisations and researchers to improve the questionnaire - maintaining comparability with 2007 data and also on a country and regional level.

How to take part

Companies listed in the ESOMAR directory and ESOMAR members at research providers that are not listed will be invited to take part in the survey by email on the 19 January, 2010.

Research providers that are members of national market research associations who do not have an ESOMAR member are also invited to contact ESOMAR at industrysurvey@esomar.org to request the project specifications and an individual log-in to the survey.

The data supplied will remain completely confidential. It will not be possible to combine cost quotations with the name of a company and we will only publish results in the form of means, medians and the range of quotations for each project.

The full report will be published in summer 2010.

The Prices Survey is being conducted under direction of independent consultant Ray Poynter, Principal, The Future Place. Online data collection will be hosted by NEBU BV.
