Marco Bevolo
Director Foresight and Trends, Philips Design
Marco Bevolo joined Philip Design in 1999, assuming responsibility for the cultural trend research program. He was instrumental in the creation of CultureScan, an ongoing trend forecasting research project investigating cultures, aesthetics and design at regional and global level. He was promoted to Design Director in 2003, and now concentrates on communication and cultural trends as well as media relations.
Prior to joining Philips Design, his work focused mainly on publishing and marketing communications. He was editor-in-chief for 'Intervista', an Italian lifestyle magazine. He then worked as copywriter with Armando Testa on clients such as Procter & Gamble and Bolton. He joined the Euro RSCG agency in 1998. He started his professional experience in 1990 at Italdesign Giugiaro as project manager.
Mr. Bevolo's work has been published in the Italian books “The Art of Advertising” and 'Nuova Enciclopedia della Comunicazione', the renowned Japanese design magazine 'Axis' and the Design Management Review of Boston. He has been published and interviewed by Repubblica, ViewPoint, Der Spiegel, Contagious and Marketing Tijdschrift on cultural. He lectured at the Temasek Polytechnic of Singapore, the Pasadena Art Center College of Design, and was module coordinator of the Master of Arts in Design Management at INHOLLAND in Rotterdam. He is currently visiting lecturer at Domus Academy of Milan and at the International Institute for Journalism of the Donau University in Krems, Austria. As well as representing Philips Design in major print and broadcast media, he is regularly invited as speaker and chairman at ESOMAR, the World Market Research association, the European Networking Group and the Design Management Institute, EMAP of London, and other conferences worldwide.
Mr. Bevolo was born in 1967 in Turin, Italy and graduated from the University of Turin in the Psychology of Communication. He married his wife, Keiko Goto, in 1999. He lives in Torino, Italy, and Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
