Alexander Shashkin came to the business world from the Institute of Sociology, Russian Academy of Sciences, where he was a Senior Researcher. Prior to this, Alexander was a co-founder and Deputy Director of the Center for Analytical Research and Development, Kazan.
He is the CEO of Online Market Intelligence (OMI), an online research company with over 1 million active panelists in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
Alexander plays an active role in the Russian research community, as a co-founder of Russian Research Week and a member of the organising committees of several professional events. He is also a co-editor of four books (collections of articles) devoted to online research in Russia.
