In its mission to promote, elevate and support the market research industry, ESOMAR as the global association for market, social and opinion research, developed an online livestream and third parallel at its 2015 flagship event, the ESOMAR Congress and so ESOMAR TV was created.
ESOMAR TV provided the global MR community the opportunity to learn and enjoy Congress from all corners of the world. But that is not all, ESOMAR TV offered a wholesome experience for its online audience. The online viewers were able to watch uninterrupted the full Congress programme live in two parallel channels, with the ability to freely change between the channels. An added bonus was an interactive third channel, packed with exclusive interviews and discussions with top industry figures in the networking breaks, from a professional TV set onsite at the event. At the 2015 Congress, ESOMAR TV Channel 3 had a preliminary planned programme exclusively for the online audience, adding to the content from the event. Channel 3 would activate during session breaks and lunch breaks, broadcasting interviews and breaking news on 28-29 September. ESOMAR TV was also interactive! During the live Channel 3 stream, any viewer from anywhere in the world could ask questions to the interviewees on channel 3 through a side bar chat option or via twitter #ESOMARTV which was being moderated live. Each channel 3 programme section would be followed by a Q&A panel with questions from the online audience.
ESOMAR TV was for anyone with an interest in or involved in the market research industry, marketing, advertising and various other topics. With no limitations or charges required for registration, anyone in the world could register and watch the three content-filled channels for free.

The 2015 Congress ESOMAR TV was a global success. Reflective of ESOMAR’s membership, ESOMAR created an online community from all over the world. From hubs of a few people, to entire offices joining the sharing of insights and knowledge, Congress was alive beyond its host city Dublin to various corners of the world.

This online opportunity showed ESOMAR to be a true trend setter in the market research industry. It showed ESOMAR as a thought leader with tremendous confidence to live stream (for free) all of the content of its Annual Congress to anyone in the world. Having exclusive interactive online content allowed ESOMAR to keep its audience in the breaks and to add even more value to the online audience experience. The interactivity online and in the meeting rooms also allowed the online audience to feel part of the international audience gathered in Dublin. Finally, the online stream attracted a younger demographic which allowed the global platform ESOMAR provides to profile itself to the next generation – a MUST for the industry in its searcah for longevity.
This year, ESOMAR returns with its ESOMAR TV offering at Congress 2016, giving the industry and those outside the industry the opportunity to experience ESOMAR’s flagship event, from anywhere in the world. ESOMAR Congress 2016 is held in New Orleans 18-21 September – the programme and registration will be online 19 April.
