9 November, 2011 (Amsterdam) - ESOMAR, the global association for market, social and opinion research, was recently awarded The Research Transformation Award for Best Research Organisation in a new series of awards created to celebrate ideas, organisations and methodologies that have had (or are having) the most transformative impact on market research.
The awards were organised and announced by John Puleston, of GMI, in a special session for the NewMR Festival and were judged by an esteemed international panel of 30 leading research innovators and thought leaders from across the industry.
In the category of communications, ESOMAR was one of 10 research organisations nominated for best transforming how we think about market research.
Puleston noted, "Innovation in any field is strongly linked to the quality of cross communication and the ways of communicating ideas about market research have proliferated in recent years with the advent of the internet."
ESOMAR was announced the winner with the judges citing it as "A truly global market research organisation which unites the world of market research."
"We at ESOMAR are delighted about receiving this honour, particularly as it was peer-reviewed and peer-awarded" said ESOMAR Director General, Finn Raben. "We are also thrilled to have received this award from the Festival of NewMR, which represents a "new face" of how our industry facilitates exchanges of knowledge."
"In many ways, this award also goes to the vast body of researchers who willingly donate their time, experience and expertise to ESOMAR, and without whose contribution we could not continue to encourage, advance and elevate the cause of Market Research globally."
