Job Announcement: Senior Standards Programmes Coordinator

ESOMAR, the global voice of the data, research, and insights community, is pleased to announce that it is seeking to recruit a new team member for its Government Affairs and Professional Standards service for an immediate start.

This senior role, reporting to the Head of the Public Affairs and Professional Standards, will spearhead an essential service to our community and support our Professional Standards Committee.

We are looking for a talented project coordinator, able to multi-task across multiple simultaneous projects and advance them. We seek an effective communicator, sensitive to cultural differences and passionate to work with people; a driven individual whose attention to detail is impeccable.

Having excellent competences in the field of data protection and privacy (preferably with external, independent certification) will be essential for the post holder to support our compliance support programme for our corporate members. Practical experience managing an in-house compliance programme will be considered an advantage as would familiarity with the data, research, and insights ecosystem.

Job experience: Minimum 2 years experience (however 5+ years professional or relevant experience is desirable)

Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Standards Programmes Coordinator deputises the Head of Public Affairs and Professional Standards in coordinating our professional standards services, membership compliance support services, and related programmes.

The Senior Standards Programmes Coordinator works to position the professional standards services of ESOMAR in the direct service of the data, research, and insights ecosystem and beyond in front of regulators, related sectors, and the general public.

The Senior Standards Programmes Coordinator develops programmes with an attention to increasing the financial sustainability of the service. The Senior Standards Programmes Coordinator takes initiative to strengthen, develop, and diversify the portfolio of services and in particular consultancy support to the ecosystem on technical matters that impact the entire ecosystem (i.e. ICC/ESOMAR Code and guideline compliance, ethical data use by organisations…).

Deputises the Head of Public Affairs and Professional Standards in managing the Professional Standards expertise centre:

  • You coordinate and executes projects under the management of the Government Affairs and Professional Standards Team
  • You act as the Secretary for the Professional Standards and Disciplinary Sub-Committees
  • You ensure the effective management of the Professional Standards Committee including by drafting and providing briefings and supports to the Committee Chair and Head of Team to progress adopted strategic and work plans
  • You coordinate and progress the work of our international project teams (drafting committees, working groups) composed of volunteers and ensures their task progression
  • You manage and ensure effective case management of complaints and queries submitted through the SERENE platform together with the Senior Advocacy Programmes Executive and Disciplinary Sub-Committee
  • You develop a service to ESOMAR members in respect to Codes, Guidelines and protocols and is responsible for evolving the service to meet stakeholder needs and expectations
  • You provide logistical and executive support for the Committees under the management of Government Affairs and Professional Standards together with other team members

Leads on the development and success of revenue-generating programmes based on the Government Affairs and Professional Standards expertise centre:

  • You develop and strengthen the portfolio of activities based on the expertise centre supporting businesses’ broad compliance support needs
  • You lead the execution of the ESOMAR Plus programme (consultancy support on data protection and privacy) by coordinating internal and external resources to meet stakeholder demand
  • You collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues to define and execute of the communications and marketing activities for the services
  • You collaborate across departments to promote, generate subscriptions for the ESOMAR Plus family of products and services
  • You coordinate the subscription process for new subscribers
  • You lead our representations and virtual presentations to inform prospective customers about the value of the programmes and activities under the portfolio

Coordinates the Data Protection Officer Working Group:

  • You coordinates our internal Data Protection Officer Working Group and monitor our own organisational compliance with GDPR and related data protection and privacy legislation
  • You advise Senior Management on data protection and privacy compliance issues
  • You initiate, as appropriate, projects to raise internal awareness and compliance 

IAPP or Universiteit Maastricht DPO certification an advantage.
